Permissions

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security. Add the app that launches the server (Cursor, Claude, Terminal, or OSX-MCP itself) to Accessibility. Add the same app to Screen Recording only if you want screenshots. Restart that app afterwards.

Emergency stop

Press Control-Option-Shift-Escape, or use the menu-bar item. New actions fail until you reset the stop in the OSX-MCP UI. An AI client cannot clear it.

App Review

OSX-MCP is fully usable without an account. To exercise a connection check, run any local MCP client against the installed app. Remote control of other people’s machines is not part of the product.
